Coffee cup tidbits
TUCSON, Ariz. — For millions, a trip to the coffee shop is as routine as brushing our teeth. But just like shutting off the water while you brush is a great way to conserve resources, there are a couple of things you can do when you stop by your corner Starbucks or mom-and-pop shop for your cup of joe.
![]() Ditch the paper for plastic. If you can't, then hang onto the
paper until you find a recycling bin. Mike Linsey 1) Bring a mug! Plenty of coffee shops offer discounts if you bring in your own thermo-friendly container. Some will even give you a free cup. And if you have trouble scrounging for the one you take with you from the kitchen, to the car, to the office, then invest in two or three. If you’re not a big thermos or plastic mug fan, or you just forget to bring one with you, be sure to hang on to your empty paper cup and toss it in a recycling bin. Most shops only provide trash. |
